Gary Patten

Gary has been involved in sport of all types for over 50 years. Including coaching and or competing in Rugby, Athletics, Surf Life Saving, Cricket, Boxing, Bodybuilding, and Powerlifting.

Marie Patten

Marie has spent 15 years in the fitness industry. Personal trainer both privately and in all the mayor gyms throughout Auckland.

Her major achievement: 1st place in Miss Natural World and 2nd place in Miss Natural World Olympia, and placing in several provincial body building and power lifting competitions.

Sean Hughes

Sean Hughes has been active in the fitness industry for more than 10 years and mixes his passion for fitness and cooking to create a unique training style that goes beyond a standard personal trainer. Sean uses a range of alternative training systems to not only add variety but increased functionality to his training methods.

Functional fitness training and fitness anywhere training is what Sean has developed his own unique training programs around. To do this Sean has spent time in Australia and America training with the best of the best to become a master trainer in AquaLogix and qualified TRX trainer. Sean has also obtained many other unique certifications including the world leading Combine 360 program certification.

Healthy eating and effective fitness training is a lifestyle change. Once you learn that fitness can be done anywhere using little to no equipment you will understand that there is really no excuse to being unfit and having no time to exercise.

MYTH: ONE SHOULD LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE THEY BEGIN AN EXERCISE PROGRAM.


There is no physiological reason to lose weight prior to beginning an exercise program only unless you have orders from your Doctor. Fat loss and muscle gain are only two of the many benefits that your body will experience from exercising. Once you lose weight you can move a little easier and you can be more fit at 30% body fat if you are exercising than if you try to achieve 20% with exercising. The goal is to gain or preserve muscle and lose fat – not just lose weight.
